Proclamation, Community, and Service
The mission of the music program at St Paul's is to proclaim the Word of God through music, and to glorify God with our lips and in our lives. We lead our congregation in praising and experiencing God, and we enable our congregation to sing and participate more fully in this praise of God. In doing this, we bear witness to the world outside of the world’s true Light, and we actively reach outside the walls of St Paul's to include more people in the joy of God and God’s creation.
We invite others into the musical life of our congregation. And we work so that all singers and instrumentalists, especially young people, can flourish musically and spiritually in a nurturing and creative environment. How great is it, to find such delight in singing and to serve others! We are blessed by God to bless others through singing. We sum up our thanks in the words of the Chorister’s Prayer from the Royal School of Church Music, shown here in a beautiful wood carving which hangs in the choir room, the generous gift of an anonymous donor:
