Diane Seskes    Diane has been involved with photography as far back as she can recall. In this age of digital photography, she sees herself as a purist. She uses a Nikon F100, relies upon available light, and uses Velvia slide film. Her focus is primarily on nature photography both landscape and macro work, but she also enjoys abstractions, Americana, and travel photography.
Diane is a member of the Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society and Artists of Rubber City. Her work has received awards in the annual Cuyahoga Valley Photo Exhibit, the Medina Metroparks and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge competitions. She has had images published in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s (CVNP) calendar and Schedule of Events. Her image of Brandywine Falls was selected to represent the Midwest Region in the National Parks Passport to Your Park Stamp Series. She received a first place in the first Shoot the Hills competition sponsored by Hocking Hills State Park. Recently, she was published in National Geographic Traveler magazine, Birds & Blooms, Akron Life & Leisure magazine, the National Geographic Guide to National Parks, The Cuyahoga Valley National Park Handbook, and 52 Weeks 52 Works 2007 Desk Calendar.
Diane’s images have juried into convergence The College of Wooster Art Museum’s regional exhibit as well as juried exhibits at Summit ArtSpace in Akron. As a recipient of a Creative Opportunity Grant sponsored by the Artists of Rubber City, Diane is experimenting with incorporating her photographic images into glass and acrylics using etching and hand painting all illuminated by LED and fluorescent lights. In addition to regional shows and exhibits, The Log Cabin Gallery (www.thelogcabingallery.com), housed in a restored 1850’s log cabin in her backyard in Peninsula, features her photography and is open seasonally and by appointment.
