Legacy III

Legacy III provides transitional housing services for homeless women who are suffering from chronic substance abuse. Legacy III assists residents in re-establishing stability in their lives, advocating for themselves and becoming economically self-sufficient members of society.

According to Darnella Cummings, founder and chief executive officer of the agency, “In 1996, there were ladies who would successfully complete alcohol and drug treatment programs but have nowhere to go at the point of discharge. Being newly sober, having inadequate relapse prevention skills and support systems, and no financial means with which to secure housing, they would fall through the cracks of the continuum of care system in Summit County. So, Legacy III was created to provide sober housing and the type of structure needed for them to learn how to live a lifestyle of sobriety.”

St. Paul’s provides support for Legacy III through brown-bag collections of in-kind donations for residents in the program.
