The United Thank Offering (UTO) is an organization founded by women in 1889 and has become a worldwide effort to meet compelling human needs and to expand the mission and ministry of the church throughout the world.
The mission of the United Thank Offering is to expand the circle of thankful people. We encourage daily prayer, daily offerings, and an awareness of the abundance in God’s blessings. The UTO is a spiritual and financial partner in the mission work of the Episcopal Church with values that include thanksgiving, generosity, mission and ministry. As you say your prayers of thanks, place money in your blue UTO box. The money becomes an outward and visible sign of thanks to God. It is a way to fulfill our baptismal covenant to love our neighbors as ourselves, strive for justice and peace among all people and to serve Christ in all persons.
St. Paul’s holds UTO Ingatherings twice yearly, typically in the Spring and Fall. UTO blue boxes and envelopes are available at those times at all entrances to the church, chapel, and Sunday School areas.
Our Spring Ingathering will be on Sunday, May 16, 2010 - look for further details in the Sunday Bulletin as this date approaches!
