What you will be doing with YouthWorks:

We (Youthworks) focus on two primary areas of ministry: children and home improvement. Our work with children consists of a hands-on afternoon program led by your youth, known as Kids Club. Kids Club offers high-energy games, crafts, skits, songs and interactive lessons all designed to help kids learn about Jesus. Work projects include minor home repair and painting projects. Your group’s willingness to refresh a worn out exterior of a house with a new coat of paint brings real hope and an opportunity to share the love of Christ. In Mon Valley, you may have the opportunity to work with a brand new ministry called MissionBuild America, Inc. MissionBuild's purpose is to move people to love like Jesus by mobilizing the Church to build homes, build jobs, build families, and build faith. YouthWorks and MissionBuild will partner together with communities to create affordable housing and work alongside selected families. Projects that you may participate in include: demolition, gutting, plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, roofing and building. Adult leaders will separate youth into ministry groups, and the youth in your group will be mixed with the youth from other groups for their week of service. Due to multiple church groups and varying needs of the community, we cannot confirm until all groups arrive on site exactly what service your youth will be involved with. We ask that you come to serve with a willing and flexible spirit.

Deidre’s notes:

If you enjoy getting your hands dirty and working hard: this is your site.  Note, however, there is NO guarantee that you will be assigned to the build crew.  Youth will have to be flexible to work with kids and teens, too.

You must have completed 8th grade to be considered for this site.

The cost of this trip is $325.  Some scholarship money will be available.

Registration forms must be in and the $50 deposit must be paid by April 29th  As space is limited, consideration is given to those who are registered first.
