Bishop's Visit / Confirmations

The Bishop of our Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Anne Jolly, will be with us on Sunday, May 10th, during which she will confirm (it looks like) a handful of our youth and possibly some adults. In our tradition, every visit by a Bishop is a chance for our youth to make an intentional embrace of the faith—a confirmation, that is—and it’s also a chance for those who were baptized and previously confirmed in another tradition to be received into our denomination by coming forward, kneeling before the bishop, and being blessed. Further still, the bishop will bless anyone who wishes to come forward for a renewal in their walk with Christ their Lord. It’s an important service, always moving and always uplifting. We will be reminding ourselves of these things as the day approaches.
